ENGINEERED MESH SNEAKER // DESIGN PROCESS
Product Breif: New sneaker in the price entry category for active Kids.
Designing this product was learning a new skillset in terms of creating an engineered mesh upper with the help from the R&D department as well as a supplier. The product was supposed to reach a certain pricepoint. I therefore utillized some of the least cost sensitive materials as well as the processes involving the least amount of minutes in order of reaching the price point. Still having a beautiful product depended on the design lines as well as a beautifully designed engineered mesh.
The non-sew detailing on the heel, eyestay and mudguard are added for dirt repelling and the additional protection of the mesh material beneath as well as a design feature og the product. Elasticated laces give the function of a slip on shoe if they are tied for the perfect fit during the first wear.
The colour palette of the product is created to make a good basic product as well as an eye catching element of the collection with its gradient effect.
The versatility and design as wel as the price of the engineered mesh sneaker makes it one of Ecco Shoes best selling Kids shoes.
