SNEAKER LOOK BOOTIE // DESIGN PROCESS
Product Breif: New selection for the Urban Mini group in the Infant size range.
Creating a new playful design for the Urban Mini group I started by using the lines of the already existing Urban Mini articles and combined the basic lines of two different designs to create this new version to link and merge the design directions into one coherent collection.
The closure type was the next thing I designed. I went from the classic double velcro that exists everywhere in the Kids collection to making something new and yet still functional. I ended up making a new velcro design with a closed elastic lace system which gives the bootie a sneakerish feel.
The materials used are suede leather together with a textile and the white laces for an active yet price entry shoe.
